You may notice that I have less details or prompts for some fandoms/ships/mediums than others. Please don't take this as an indication that I want those things any less than other things! I very much desperately want everything I've requested, I've just had more time to request some things than others.

And: please don't feel like you need to follow one of my prompts to keep from disappointing me. I've provided all the information below in an attempt to help my writer feel confident in producing a gift for me, but if prompts and extra details don't work for you then feel free to ignore them.

plot/characterization drawn from other related canons — I haven't read MDZS yet, am behind on the donghua, etc. I don't mind smaller worldbuilding details or character information being pulled from the novel where it doesn't contradict The Untamed, but I will get confused if you blend the two canons!
suicide/suicidal ideation clarification:
- the suicides in the show are fine to mention/have happen/include on-screen, but I don't want anything written from the POV of those characters in that moment
- it's fine for a time looping character to kill themself to start a new loop, if that's a mechanic you want to include, as long as they're doing it to deliberately reset the loop rather than in hopes of dying for good.
the rotting undead/zombies clarification: Obviously, the show has puppets, not zombies...but okay, they're kind of basically exactly obviously zombies, lmao, and to be honest I do love necromancy as a narrative element despite being squeamish and weak.
- You can stick with show-canon "they were just puppets!"/"Wen Ning was only mostly almost dead!" if you want!
- or you can have them be zombies, but I really do DNW the "rotting" part of this DNW — please let your undead be either freshly killed, magically preserved, or past the point of rotting (eg, skeletons, ghosts!).

Anything on my general likes list is excellent in shipfic too of course. Also, I am a pretty big fan of understated shipfic — if you just put the characters together and show that they care about each other then I don't even need kissing or anything, really, which I think can work well for fandoms where characters are frequently in life-or-death situations or need to be professional. Not that kissing isn't welcome! Just, I am extremely easy to please on the "Is this shippy enough?" front.
Slow burn, friends to lovers, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers — The slower the better. FWB-to-lovers is also great.
Characters who have history with each other — established relationships are good, but what I really love is feeling like the characters know each other well and think about each other often. In characters who are already friends, that probably looks like, say, knowing what kind of coffee the other person likes. In characters who were enemies, they probably know each other’s weaknesses and faults really well.
Arguments where each person thinks the conversation is about something subtly different — I mean, misunderstandings in general are great for tension, but I like it when characters are trying to communicate but they’re coming from perspectives so different that they can’t even argue without clarification.
Casual physical affection — a lot of my ships involve people who have massive or very specific personal bubbles, so seeing the way the characters touch each other when they’re not already in Kissing Mode is really great.
Pining, especially longstanding they-could-never-want-me pining — the id wants what the id wants and what the id wants is characters with low self-worth. Bonus points if it's tied up in some kind of misunderstanding about their relationship (eg, "They hate me!" or "I'm ugly!") or their differing rank/species/wealth/etc.
When their hands touch and other very understated moments of romantic or sexual tension — aaaaaaa I don't even have words for how much I love this, if you include it I will wail happily at you about it in my comment, possibly at length.

Smut likes

I don't usually request smut but if you want to include it then I don't mind. I know that that's kind of an extremely bland and unenthusiastic way to start out but it's, uh, really honest, at least? I'm usually after character interaction, plot, or worldbuilding with my requests, but getting a sex scene along with other stuff definitely wouldn't ruin a gift. Overall, I want you to feel free to write sex if you would enjoy doing so/if you think the fic will be better with it! I'm generally just enthused by my writer getting to have fun writing something they're proud of, you know?

There are obviously some things I do like, and I know some folks really enjoy tailoring their fic (i'm one of them!) so:

Extremely emotionally charged sex — No matter what kind of sex acts they do, I really love when the sex has a lot of feelings involved, especially if it's sad emotions or desperation or part of some hurt/comfort or whump.
Sex that's very directly relevant to the plot or character arcs — I love sex scenes where I learn more about a character or relationship. Is 'character driven smut' a thing? Because if so, that's my favorite. And also porn with plot.
anal and pegging, PIV, frottage, intercural, handjobs, all kinds of fingering, strapons, toys
overstimulation and edging, orgasm delay/denial
bondage — handcuffs, spreader bars, honor bondage, and honestly pretty much anything in the general category of restricting someone's movement during sex

I'm not much for birthing scenes.

Senju Tobirama/Uchiha Madara

This ship has just SUCH good potential for tension, conflict, politics, and iddy, iddy goodness. They're from two warring clans! They're at the center in a crazy shift in ideology and warfare! They're both hot! Listen, I could gush about them forever.

Tobirama and Madara have a really interesting contrast (eg, Tobirama is logical, keeps his emotions locked down, has a strong leaning towards analysis and systems...and meanwhile Madara is like a big huge hot mess of All The Feelings) and the fact that they were probably raised very differently and definitely raised on opposite sides of a longstanding conflict is hella good. Their thoughts on the village, their approaches to problem solving, and even probably their very fundamental belief systems are extremely different and that's the kind of thing that can lead to really interesting tension. What they do have in common (Hashirama, losing brothers, wanting to protect their clans, each at some point in some way genuinely believing in Konoha, probably PTSD from the whole child soldier thing) makes for an interesting foundation to build a relationship.

I'd love something that explores how hard it is for them to trust each other, especially when vulnerable. Any kind of focus on ninja being cautious, dangerous, suspicious, sneaky, and etc. I don't need/want them to be grimdark edgelords who assassinate kids once a week or anything, but just kind of...a general awareness that they've been at war their whole lives against the kind of enemies who use illusions, poison, infiltration, subtle manipulation, and any other means necessary to achieve their goals! I love that shit.

The world is your oyster. I'm somewhat less interested in anything set after Madara leaves the village, but only because I like happy endings; if you think you can make it work please go for it.

Hoshigaki Kisame/Hatake Kakashi

What I like about this ship is that Kakashi and Kisame have obvious points of tension, but none of it feels particularly insurmountable or personal. I mean, ok, that whole "capturing Naruto" thing is a sticking point, but Kisame never manages it and no one dies (mostly) so them working through it feels interesting rather than impossible. I also think that both of them are people who value loyalty very highly and are, in their own ways, disillusioned with the village system...but obviously have chosen very different paths. Also, Kakashi is a sad dog man and Kisame is a big fighty shark dude and I just love them both?

Also also I guess I will say that I really love ships between dangerous people who have little reason to trust each other, so two extremely strong, suspicious ninja from different villages coming to trust and then even like each other goes straight to my id, and so does any ongoing tension over their loyalties and stuff!

Timelines: In terms of character timelines I'm open to pretty much everything! For Kakashi, basically the same thing — I love canon him and I would love canon divergent him — although I'm not very interested in fics where Kakashi is Hokage.

Hoshigaki Kisame/Uchiha Itachi

Sometimes when I think about Kisame I just get so emotional!!!! Especially when I think about him being sad Itachi was dead as he himself was dying oh my god ;-; he was so loyal and also a big fighty shark person who just wanted to kick ass and have people tell him the truth and I wish he and Itachi could have gotten a happen ending, especially because I am also frequently devastated when thinking about Itachi. I love that they their professional relationship working together for the Akatsuki developed into a real friendship (or....more? :DDD) and gosh I would just like to roll around in some fic for them!!

I would enjoy the characters dimension hopping together or one of them dimension hopping and the other being a native to the new dimension the traveller has landed in!
Either way, I'm super interested in them settling into a new place and exploring their new timeline.
I'd prefer if the traveller(s)'s counterpart(s) were dead, were never born, or won't be born for awhile in the new dimension.
Tobirama/Madara — In the new timeline, maybe some of their brothers are alive, or maybe Izuna is Uchiha clan head. Maybe Hashirama never had the idea for the village because Madara was never born! The "doomed" timeline could be one where something destroyed both their clans or just something where Izuna and/or Hashirama are dead.
Kakashi/Kisame — I'd be interested in a new timeline where Kakashi finds his other self is/was a missing nin. Alternatively, maybe Kisame finds himself in a verse where he's not a missing nin! Or maybe it's something else. I'd enjoy a verse where Minato, Obito, and/or Rin are alive.
Itachi/Kisame — I could definitely see them traveling together and continuing to do missing nin things, maybe while working against the Akatsuki (assuming that the Akatsuki is the one who caused the doomed timeline) or while failing to realize that one or both of them isn't a missing nin in their new universe. I would also really enjoy one of them dimension travelling after the other has died (in a canon or non-canon manner) and getting to know a new version of their favorite partner.

ALL: Enemies forced to work together

I'd enjoy something like them both being hired to bodyguard the same person at some point prior to the village coming together, or something a little more dramatic where they have to actually team up and fight alongside each other for their lives!
I'm especially interested in anything that emphasizes how hard it is to trust each other or where they surprise each other by being good teammates.
Tobirama/Madara — Hiring the Senju and the Uchiha at the same time is either a serious faux pas or a sign that the client is stirring shit. Do either of them know the other has been hired before arriving for the job? Alternatively, what kind of non-mission threat could make them work together?
Kakashi/Kisame — I love the idea of Kisame and Kakashi working the same mission and maybe getting into serious trouble! Especially if Kakashi gets his teamwork feelings all over Kisame or if you can emphasize how differently they've each been socialized when it comes to working with other people!
Itachi/Kisame — Obviously they're arguably forced to work together in canon when Itachi joins the Akatsuki, but no, this is AU ex, so I def want something where they're straight up enemies because Itachi never joined the Akatsuki or something.

All: Met while captured together/ALL: Characters Meet While In Captivity

I'd be into these freeforms both for a fic where we get to see the characters meeting while captured or for a fic where them having first met while captured is the backstory, because either sounds super good.
"Captured by who?" you ask — where applicable: a village, the bloodline thieves implied in those other tags I selected, missing nin, each others' clans, Jashinists, etc.
Tobirama/Madara — Maybe Hashirama and Madara have met but Madara and Tobirama haven't, or maybe Hashirama and Madara haven't met. I'd love to see both of them be super competent together while breaking out! I'd also enjoy something where they first meet because only one of them is captured, say by the other's clan!
Kakashi/Kisame — They might know each other by reputation, but they've never met...until now! Bonus points if either of them are injured and it makes escaping harder.
Itachi/Kisame — Maybe Akatsuki doesn't exist for some reason (something something [handwaves] Orochimaru managed to kill Madara and/or Pein before Itachi could join?) so they're just two missing nin who whoops get captured at the same time and then have to work together!

ALL: Soulbond forms during moments of extreme empathy

they're not soulmates and they're still ninja, but whoops they feel exactly the same thing at exactly the same time in close proximity to each other and become linked.
they can feel each other's emotions now?
they can fight really in synch?
they might literally die from psychic damage if they break it without a new person to bond to right away, so they're kind of stuck like this?
Tobirama/Madara — Maybe both of them accidentally yearn for the village to be true. Maybe both of them see Hashirama die/almost die. Maybe they're both grieving for brothers. Maybe Madara is trying to kill Tobirama for killing Izuna and he hates Tobirama and Tobirama hates himself and, oops, they're bonded!
Kakashi/Kisame — A moment of shared disgust over some terrible aspect of the village system? Both of them desperate to live? Both of them feeling really bad about Itachi dying despite Kakashi's no doubt complicated feelings? I dunno, it'd all just be so good!
Itachi/Kisame — Oh my god, so many good options...I'd love anything dramatic like the suggestions above, but I would also really enjoy something quieter or kinder, like just...really enjoying a peaceful moment sitting with the other, or both of them feeling the same kind of I-won't-leave-you-behind-to-die-even-if-it-kills-me loyalty.

These scenarios are both SO iddy to me, oh my god.
Bloodline thieves are an underrepresented, underappreciated gold mine of drama and plot.
I love rescues and I love characters rescuing each other.
I would love both a straight forward "they escape together" and a more complicated "one of them escapes and then, surprise, comes back for the other"
I'm okay with discussions of forced breeding (but don't require it be mentioned if you don't want to) and temporary non-graphic eye removal (I would like everyone to get their eyes back,please!)
I'm also super interested to know what you think happens after the whole bloodline theft thing is done! Do they just go back to their usual lives? I hope not. :D
Tobirama/Madara — Maybe the bloodline thieves think Tobirama has Mokuton, maybe they're after Sharingan, maybe both!
Kakashi/Kisame — I don't know if anyone would really want Kisame's sharky bloodline, but maybe? And of course there's always Obito's eye to try and steal! If Kisame is/has been friends with Itachi, I assume he'd have strong opinions about attempts to steal a Sharingan.
Itachi/Kisame — I love the idea of an Itachi without the protection of his clan or village falling prey to bloodline theives, omg.

Naruto: Izuna dies in a manner unrelated to the Senju

Izuna is such a barrier to the village being built, so him dying seems kind of necessary for that to happen.
On the other hand, Izuna being killed by Tobirama did kind of totally wreck Madara's everything and then subsequently put the Uchiha in a really bad position and decades down the line bam, Uchiha massacre.
So yes, my wild idea for a fix-it fic is for Izuna to beef it in some way that's not related to the Senju or Hashirama or Tobirama or the village in general.
That way Madara can be totally sad but he can get hella revenge without ruining his dream of the village, and Hashirama can still be his friend, and everything can be better!
Tobirama/Madara — Madara is grieving but the village is still coming together. They end up spending a lot of time together.
Kakashi/Kisame — Admittedly this freeform works best for Tobirama/Madara but I am absolutely tickled by the thought of Kakashi and Kisame traveling back in time and framing some third party for Izuna's death in an attempt to fix the village. Bonus points if they get to help found the village afterwards!

Naruto: No Villages AU

I really love the Warring Clans Era, so a no-village AU is a no brainer! It's a great excuse for characters to distrust each other or be enemies!
That being said, maybe there are lots of alliances or something. Maybe the Senju and the Uchiha merged! It doesn't have to be straight WCE-esque.
Tobirama/Madara — Hashirama and Madara's dream never came together, but years down the line...Madara and Tobirma maybe come to an understanding.
Kakashi/Kisame — One of them is on a mission in the other's territory, or maybe at a diplomatic meeting!

Why Maggie

Maggie is great. She fits in great with the team when we see her interact with them, so fic where she interacts with them more would be so good. I love how she gave Nate a button camera one time and then later totally recognized it on Eliot's shirt and I would love to know more about what Nate shared with her when they were married and if she ever did any investigations with him. Did they use to go on work trips together, her to assess things and Nate to investigate things? Nate and Maggie's relationship is never really explored except in the content of Sam's death and Nate's flaws and although I really do find that compelling in the show, I find I'm desperate to know who Maggie is when she's at her very best! I also think that her grief over Sam is seriously overshadowed in the show by Nate's feelings, especially because Maggie keeps her life together, so anything that explores her coping with grief or other negative emotions would be so very perfect.

There's so much I would love to see from this AU it's hard to even start to list them.

Maggie keeps working with IYS in canon because Nate hides what the company did from her and I could really go either way with this AU: maybe Nate still hides it, or maybe he doesn't? Either way, I love the idea of single mom Maggie slowly coming around to the idea that she could work with some of Nate's old contacts to take IYS down.
Her connecting with Sophie and/or Sterling over shared grief and anger would be especially great. So any exploration of how differently she'd treat Hardison, Parker, and Eliot.
Something like a pilot episode/origin story would be nice, but something set farther into the AU would be interesting too!
Maybe she and Nate were known to be quite a team, so Dubenich still gets her to be a mastermind. Or maybe he comes looking for Nate, finds her instead, and just goes for it.
Maybe Sophie looks her up when she hears about Nate's passing. Maybe Sophie shows up for the funeral and then keeps showing up!
Maybe Sophie, Hardison, Eliot, and Parker come together with some other guy as the mastermind but he sucks, so they kick him off the island and the form their own lose team, stumbling forward with jobs half run by whoever has the most relevant expertise and half run by committee and it's lowkey until they draw Maggie into it somehow.
Whatever else the AU is about, I hope it's at least very much about Maggie being extremely competent and surprisingly good at crime.

Like the above, I'd really love to see Maggie connect to the team and have a chance to shine without Nate around!

Why Lockhart

I am interested in two kinds of fic here:

Fic where Gilderoy Lockhart is the main character.
Fic where Gilderoy Lockhart is the main subject, but maybe doesn't actually appear.

I was suddenly overcome with a passionate and surprising need for Lockhart fic while writing my letter for the last round of UFE, and I've been requesting him ever since because Gilderoy Lockhart is a very interesting character! An excellent and stunning character! And also a horrible person, which just makes him better. Lockhart annoys his coworkers, endangers his students, ruins lives, lies, steals, probably cheats when possible, focuses only on himself, gives absolutely ludicrously terrible advice........... what more could you want to write about? Also, his various crimes were never made public and his victims never found, informed, or compensated, which is such a wonderful dangling tread to pull.

If you're looking for direction on my favorite characters — because some people do! — you really can't go wrong with Hermione, Luna, Harry, Draco, Ron, Sirius, or the Weasley twins... but really I'm here for Lockhart content! I would be delighted to receive different characters, OCs, and/or extremely minor canon characters. I have received fic for this prompt using characters not on that list and it was amazing. I know canonically a lot of shit gets swept under the rug at Hogwarts but like...uh...Lockhart is super famous and housewives like Molly Weasley love him. So him suddenly losing all his memories in a freak accident while also a basilisk was running around seems like it should have caused a stir.
Plus in the books there are so many times Harry's political enemies try to nail him to the wall for shit! This seems like a fun opportunity for that.
How does wizarding court work? Are there lawyers, and does Harry have to help the Weasleys pay for one? If Ron and.or Harry are under suspicion of misconduct (i.e., not helping Lockhart enough or even deliberately wiping his mind) then what's their legal defense like?
I would love to see general Weasley family reaction to the whole situation!

For this crossover I would prefer things take place in The Untamed's setting, but I would like Naruto's setting to remain a separate and distinct — I am not interested in a fusion where the Uchiha clan is a cultivation sect, for instance.

If you would like to give any of the crossover characters solid backgrounds in the cultivation world, I would very much enjoy a version of this where the crossover characters reincarnated into The Untamed's setting with their memories! The crossover characters could even reincarnate into canon characters, if you like that.

Otherwise, I'm fine with Naruto's ninja-filled setting being either very far away or in a different universe entirely. I am a big fan of "oh no, this experimental jutsu/surprise seal trap has sent me to a strange place!" as a plot device! I think Tobirama would be an interesting crossover character because the Warring Clans Era in Naruto is similar to but also different from the political situation in The Untamed in a way that Sakura doesn't really have!
I would enjoy a Tobirama from pre-village times or a Tobirama who's already helped build the village. All Tobiramas are good Tobiramas!
I think that W WXand Tobirama both have a lot of things in common on the surface (inventing things, zombies, middle siblings, etc) but that WWX would maaaaaaybe remind Tobirama of Hashirama, what with WWX's unwavering commitment to making things less fucked up than they currently are and everything.

Uchiha Madara & Wen Ning

Like with Tobirama, I think Madara would make a very interesting addition to things! For his interactions with Wen Ning in particular, okay, I think Wen Ning has serious little brother energy and Madara's big brother senses would tingle.
Plus, Madara has actually had one (1) friend before (it was Hashirama) so he's probably more likely to make friends than Tobirama!
Big brother things aside, I could ship these two also if they're both adults or both teenagers of about the same age. (But I really, really am into gen! I just thought I'd mention it.)
ALL: Interesting people you meet in prison/All: Met while captured together/ALL: Characters Meet While In Captivity — I have no particular preference about when the meeting happens or who is doing the capturing/imprisoning. The Wen, the Jin, whatever! I also don't actually need both characters to be imprisoned (eg, crossover character could be captured by the Wen and Wen Ning could just be, like, around) nor do I need their time captured together to be the subject of the fic — I would very much enjoy that, but I would also enjoy them running into each other later in some other situation with the "captured together" backstory in play!
Untamed: Crossover character helps Wei Wuxian & the Wen Remnants — I just really want a fixit for the Wen Remnants. There are many options, all of them good. I think Madara would be particularly soft about A-Yuan and upset about his mistreatment! Just like me. TT_TT
Untamed: Crossover character saves Wen Ning from WN's canonical death — I don't think Madara could heal WN, but he could certainly kick ass! I would love this paired with backstory about them having met each other before, because Wen Ning is a good and kind boy who should be rewarded for helping strangers and near-strangers. If not that then maybe Madara was hired by Wen Ruohan for some reason and even though Madara could technically go home now that WRH is dead, he feels honor bound to uphold the contract and go find some Wen to help?

Fandom note: I finished this series specifically just in time to nom for AU Ex and I'm so glad I did because as you can see below I have SO many feelings. I'm not into the book or the donghua so per my DNW please stick to show canon for plot points, character beats, etc. I don't mind the inclusion of smaller details/worldbuilding from MDZS, though. I've seen Fatal Journey (the Nie bros movie) but I haven't seen the Wen Ning movie yet.

I spent the whole show up until Jin Zixuan's death being mad about JYL/JZX being canon and then at the last minute got convinced, so like...I'll happily read Jiang Yanli or Jin Zixuan shipped with other people, but I also would love to see their relationship in the show explored and deepened into something convincing!
I like WWX/LWJ and I'm not really interested in them being shipped with other people unless the other is also there.

Solo characters + time travel

For alternate universes created by time travel I...have an insatiable hunger. You can read some of my time travel likes in my past imperfect letter in the form of freeforms, but I will also try to sum up my feelings here!

For me, a lot of the appeal is rooted in seeing how a time traveler's understanding of everything can shift — how a day that was happy the first time around is sad or scary the second time around, how they recontextualize the actions of those around them based on what they know everyone will do in the future, how their values and goals and relationships can shift and change. I love it when time travellers blame people for actions they haven't taken yet. I love it when they grieve people who aren't yet dead. I love how the reader and the time traveller frequently get to share the future knowledge, both tasting the same dramatic irony and basking in the warm glow of fixing something that went to shit the last time around!! And I love especially especially especially the emotional logistical nightmare of it all: trying to keep it a secret even though they've changed so much; not knowing who to trust; not knowing who would believe them; not knowing if anyone would help them; struggling to keep their actions logically consistent with who they're supposed to be in the time that they're in.

I don't have any strong preferences about how characters travel back in time/time loop and wil probably be content to have it be unexplained or handwaved. Also, I'm not really looking for fics with multiple time travelers for this exchange; I don't really think my prompts are set up for it. Please feel free to mix 'n' match several requested relationships or freeforms between this or other requests for The Untamed.

ALL: Possessed by time travelling future self — You can feel free to read this as bog-standard "character goes back in time and takes over their own past body" because I love that trope, but with this freeform's phrasing I would also love love LOVE to see a take on this freeform in this setting where "possession" is legitimately what seems to be happening — I'm talking the present-day self losing time, doing things without meaning to, saying weird shit they don't mean to say, the whole shebang. Ghosts are literally a problem these characters run into and Wen Ning is even supposed to be extra vulnerable to possession so like...fuck yes. I love outside POVs of time travellers, too, so this would work for me from the POV of the time traveller's present self or from the POV of the people around the time traveller's present self really well!
ALL: Time loop where character makes things worse before making them better — Oh my god the potential. The POTENTIAL. I want to see characters making things worse because A) they just have character flaws that make it inevitable before they have some character growth and/or B) they don't understand what the fuck is going on with, like, Meng Yao's various plots and/or C) they don't understand the people they're trying to help. I want to see the character start out thinking "Okay, that first time around was bad, but if I just—" and then there's no simple fix because everything is terrible in so many ways, so they have to change their whole approach in order to actually achieve a fixit!

Characters

Jiang Cheng (The Untamed) — I'm especially interested in Jiang Cheng's relationships with JYL, WWX, and WQ...and also maybe his relationship with his parents! I love that he shouts and has a lot of feelings but never talks about them even when he should and I love that he's 100% behind putting him and his first and totally doesn't get why WWX always wants to stick his neck out for other people. Is there a version of events where he can care about just his own people and fuck everyone else? Is he satisfied with that? Is WWX?
Jiāng Yànlí (The Untamed) — I'm especially interested in Jiang Yanli's relationships with JC, WWX, and JZX...and also maybe her parents! I'd love to see her using her soft power to influence things; we see her starting to push back against things in canon and she straight up shows up to a big fight in her desperation, so I think it'd be really interesting to see how she'd handle being pushed to act sooner and I think it'd be super interesting to see her navigate trying to reach a good ending without being able to directly fight anyone. How far is she willing to go?
Jin Zixuan (The Untamed) — This guy!!!! I didn't like him very much and then he talked about Jiang Yanli and Jin Ling while he was dying and oops he's great. Also, I think he has no fucking clue what's actually going on at any point and then he dies before anything can be unraveled, so watching him try to fix things would be great because oops surprise everything is six layers of garbage deep! I'm interested in his relationship with JYL, his mother, Mian Mian, WWX, JGY, and even Jin Zixun.
Lan Wangji (Untamed) — LWJ clearly, uh, feels he made a lot of mistakes, so it'd be great to see him get to go back and make different mistakes! I'm interested in his relationship to every single Lan and also the Lan rules, as well as obviously WWX. Also welcome: NHS, the Wen Remnants, JYL.
Lan Xichen (The Untamed) — This poor dude. I'm interested in his relationship with LWJ, JGY, NMJ, NHS, and WWX. I would equally enjoy seeing him begin the time loop before or after he learns about JGY's whole thing — post-series LXC is delightfully pre-fucked up, which is excellent, but on the other hand mid-series LXC could get fucked up by having to work out JGY's various plots himself! So delicious.
Luo "Mian Mian" Qingyang (The Untamed) — Mian Mian is clever and smooth and good at all the interpersonal things JZX sucks at. She's principled and clear-headed and perfect. I wanted to see so much more of her in the show and so I'd of course love to see her starring in a fic! I'm interested in her relationship with everyone in the Jin sect and also WWX, and also in general how she approaches justice and truth and cultivation politics and stuff.
Nie Huaisang (Untamed) — So much sneaking! So much lying and laying low! I love that NHS figured JGY out and then had to very carefully plot to take him down, and I would love to see what he'd do with a headstart to save his brother and oust JGY from his position of power. I'd also love to know if you think he'd be able to stop there — given as many do-overs as he'd like, would he stop at just taking out JGY and saving his brother, or would he gain new goals along the way? I'm particularly interested in NHS's relationship with NMJ, GJY, LXC, and WWX.
Wei Wuxian (Untamed) — Okay, I mean, this is basically a free space. I would love to see WWX try to make things better. I would love to see how far he'd be willing to go to try and save everyone, I'd love to see how much farther he could push himself in a time loop. I'm interested in his relationships with literally everyone.
Wen Ning (The Untamed) — I'm interested in WN's relationship with WQ, with the Wen Remnants, and with Wei Wuxian. I love that basically the only things we ever see Wen Ning do are A) help people or B) get bullied, and I think that that would make for a really interesting timeloop situation! He's very sweet and very helpful and very loyal and I would love to see him use all of that to save his people — I'm very curious what you think his top priorities would be!
Wen Qing (The Untamed) — Oh my god Wen Qing...I love her...I'm interested in her relationship with the Wen clan in general, with the Wen Remnants, with Wen Ning, with JC, and with WWX. I would also love to see her interact more with the rest of the cast, especially JYL! I'm interested in Wen Qing's sense of duty and the way she protects her people. I'm interested in her ethics!! I'm interested in how the burden of WWX throwing his life away for her people weighs on her. Like JYL, she doesn't have the power people like WWX have — we never see her fight anyone! — so I'd love to see what she can accomplish as a healer instead of a fighter.

Group: Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian/Nie Huaisang (The Untamed) — That part right after the Cloud Recesses arc where NHS shows up and is like "oh, shit, you guys are on a date...but I'm going to come along!" is one of my faves and really sold me on this ship! I grew to like the idea of it even more as I saw how smart and sneaky NHS is. I'm okay with both a version of this ship where they're all into each other or a version of this ship where LWJ and NHS are both into WWX but not into each other. That being said, I would love to see LWJ and NHS interact!!! I would prefer a happy ending for this ship, although they don't have to get married or anything.
Group: Lan Xichen/Nie Huaisang (Untamed) — I love NHS constantly getting LXC to help him and I love the tension of LXC feeling really great about his good friend JGY while NHS is plotting against JGY! I love that it means NHS couldn't trust LXC despite how much he probably wanted to. I don't need a happy ending for this ship; feel free to have it be totally ruined by NHS's reveal of JGY or whatever!
Group: Nie Huaisang & Wen Qing (The Untamed) — Two great flavors of character that I just think would go well together, bless whoever nominated this. I could also probably ship this romantically if you're into that, but gen has got me all kinds of enthused too of course!!! I think it'd be nice for them to bond over loving their respective brothers and also over both being friends with WWX.
Group: Wei Wuxian & Nie Huaisang (The Untamed) — I love this friendship so much and I would love any kind of exploration of it. We don't see much of NHS between him fainting during that Wen indoctrination scene and WWX coming back to life, so I'd love to know what he was up to and of course what he was thinking about WWX!
Group: Wen Ning & Nie Huaisang (The Untamed) — Another wonderful flavor combination! Most of the cast of The Untamed can be pretty intimidating, but WN is a ball of marshmallow fluff (until that whole Ghost General thing anyway) and NHS deliberately downplays himself, so I think their interactions could be really interesting!
Nie Huaisang (Untamed) — So much sneaking! So much lying and laying low! I'm definitely okay with WWX dying in a canon divergent manner to set up the fake death, and I'm also okay with his fakery being uncovered earlier than he came back in canon. For relationships that don't involve WWX, I would love the characters to uncover the truth together or a scene where one of them knows WWX isn't dead while the other doesn't know! I would especially love any tension around not knowing who it's safe to tell because there's no way to know if so-and-so might still want WWX dead.
Untamed: Someone else faked WWX's death and that's why his body couldn't be found — Maybe this is a case of one of the other requested characters plotting to fake WWX's death and then just kind of springing it on him to save his life...or maybe WWX's death was faked against his will and he's being held captive and needs saving! For relationships that don't involve WWX, I would love the characters to uncover the truth together or a scene where one of them knows WWX isn't dead while the other doesn't know! I would especially love any tension around not knowing who it's safe to tell because there's no way to know if so-and-so might still want WWX dead.
Untamed: NHS asks WWX for help with Nie saber tomb while WWX is with the Wen remnants — WWX even complains about how close to demonic cultivation the Nie saber thing is so this felt like a natural canon divergence! Also, as mentioned above I have seen "Fatal Journey" if you want to incorporate anything from that. I would love any kind of focus on NHS's moral objections to how the sabers have been suppressed. Oh, and of course, I would go absolutely wild for worldbuilding about magic and ghosts and swords.
Untamed: NHS tells LWJ & WWX about his plan when he talks to them about the Nie burial sabers — They were all there! In a room together! WWX basically confirms his identity by repeating NHS's own words about the fan! What if NHS had rethought his plan to just lead LWJ and WWX around and told them? How would things go differently?
Untamed: NHS has to ask someone else for help in order to take JGY down — Obviously I have made some suggestions above but literally anyone would be great (like, would I love the likely suspects? Yes...but would I also love Lan Qiren or something? Also yes) and also feel free to have NHS realize JGY needs to be taken down earlier or be a time traveller if you want to include someone who, you know, beefs it.
Untamed: NHS learns demonic cultivation as part of his plot against JGY — ...I don't have anything to add to this I just think it'd be great and I want it.
Untamed: Wen Qing is co-mastermind with Nie Huaisang — Friends! Sneaky friends! Did he help her not be killed by the Jin sect? And then not have time to tell WWX before WWX died? Or is this an AU where she never turned herself in? At what point do they begin plotting together — does he bring her into it because he needs help and she's literally the only person he can be sure won't snitch on him to JGY? I'm so curious!
All: Character gets another character’s help that they didn’t get in canon — So many of these characters need so much help...I'm obviously particularly interested in WWX getting NHS's help (during the Sunshot campaign? After?) and in NHS getting WN or WQ's help (during the Wen indoctrination, maybe?) but please god just give someone some help at some point.

Untamed: Jin Zixuan isn't killed; WWX and the Wen Remnants found a new sect in the Burial Mounds — I'm really really into the nuts and bolts of WWX actually founding a sect (improving their living conditions! teaching people! taking disciples! building relationships with the people of Yiling!) but equally I would love to see this from JZX's point of view. How is his death averted? Does he support WWX's new sect? Do he and JYL and Jin Ling ever visit?
Untamed: Wen Qing and Wen Ning are appreciated as war heroes in much the same way Meng Yao is — A) I do want a non-deep reading of this where people just like and respect them and good things happen for them but B) I also phrased it this way because I kind of want the "the same way Meng Yao" is to be in focus — i.e., that no matter how respected they are for what they did in the war, people won't forget that they were "the enemy". Either way I would love for WQ and WN to not die and save their people, though!
Untamed: During Victory Banquet WWX Helps Wen Qing and Remnants when He Sees Them Being Whipped — Please, I need it. I couldn't believe WWX just turned away and I need it fixed!!!
